GOD’S BELOVED

First Kick Fiesta

Started soccer playing this year and this is my first time attending their annual fiesta. Initially, I don’t really like soccer as I am not those sporty type. I am the reading type and not active kind. But gradually, I’ve grown to enjoy playing soccer.

Thank God my team was the 2nd runner-up. And yeah, I have my first soccer medal! =) So happy!

Jireh’s Drawing – Timeline

I drew the above picture all by myself one month ago.

(bottom to top, in my own words)

Dinosaurs times. T is for Triassic, J is for Jurassic and C is for Cretaceous Period.

Death of the Dinosaurs. See the meteorites hitting earth and volcanoes erupting. There’s even a dinosaur fossil there.

Ice Age – Woolly mammoths and Saber-toothed cats.

Stone Age, the cave men.

Modern Times. I drew Egypt’s pyramid, myself in front of my house, some high rise buildings, Effiel Tower in Paris, Big Ben in London and Venice’s gondolas.

If you looked carefully, you may realised that there are numbers 2-6 in my drawing. Where is 1? I drew 1 on another page. For 1, I drew the formation of the universe. I drew the sun and the planets in our solar systems and metorites and stars crashing into another.

Mummy and daddy are impressed at how I structured my drawing and there’s a timeline to it. Hee =p That’s just me, I like to draw ‘stories’ and ‘happenings’. There was this uncle from my parent’s church cell group who tried to tecah me to draw Bugs Bunny using simple shapes. Looks cute, yes and easy too with simple shapes. But I didn’t attempt to draw it at all even with much persuasion from the uncle. Just not my cup of tea I guess.

One Wish

When reading ‘The Enchanted Wood’ to me, mummy suddenly paused and asked me what I would wish for if I can have ONLY one wish. After thinking for about a minute, I replied,”Love God.”

Mummy was surprised and happy and proud of me though she didn’t tell me any of her feelings then. She even asked me do I still want that wish or to change another wish, as we continued with the story hearing the characters in the book wish for a pony, a doll, ability to fly. I kept to my wish. Love God.

Third Day of March Holidays: Forest Adventure

Mummy brought me for my first Forest Adventure at Compass point and we met up with cousins Alexis and Ambrose too!

I was not scared and was keen to try out the obstacles.

I was able to complete all the obstacles rather quickly and easily except for the dangling swinging suspended logs.

I enjoyed it so much that I asked for 3rd and 4th round after my 2nd round. But mummy said no but promised we will come again. Mummy said I am a brave boy as this is my first time. =)

It’s Love!

I love my muumy!

I helped mummy carry the bag of 2 balls, 1 picnic mat and an air-pump when we went to the Botanic Gardens today. That’s because mummy had her hands full with carrying Je t’aime when she fussed and refused to walk or simply walked too slowly when we were rushing for time.

I love Je t’aime too!

2 weeks ago when there was only 1 bottle of yakult left, mummy gave us a challenge as we are both slow-eaters. The person who finishes our lunch first will ‘win’ the yakult. Immediately after the challenge was given, I wolfed down my lunch and to everyone’s surprise… I gave my prize to Je t’aime. Mummy was shocked! She kept telling me that I don’t have to do that and I could maybe share half with Je t’aime. But I insisted that Je t’aime have the yakult all because I love her. =)

Jireh Is A Sweet Boy

I am a very sweet boy (accordingly to daddy and mummy). Mummy was commenting that the grapes tasted sour because of the skin and I immediately volunteered to peel the skin for mummy dearest. I love my mummy very much.

I am a trustworthy boy too and mummy’s great help (in looking after Je t’aime). See Je t’aime’s and my shoes outside mummy’s toilet cubicle when we were outside. Since a few years ago, mummy trained me to wait outside the toilet cubicle for her when she had to do ‘big business’. In order to be assured that I am safe and ‘within sight’, I am supposed to put my feet like the above picture. Now, I am teaching Je t’aime the same thing. Haha!

(picture below) Mummy found me reading to Je t’aime her bedtime story, one fine night and was pleasantly pleased with me. I am a big boy now, and a loving brother too! Hee =p

Jireh, Me Me Me!

A simple and happy boy, that’s what I am (in mummy’s opinion). Besides that, I am also a thinker (in my teacher’s opinion, shared during the last ‘Meet The Parents’ session). An example given was, Ms Ong was sharing with the class that people tend to fear dogs thinking that they bite, because they don’t understand much about the animal. She further explained that we don’t have to be afraid as dogs are generally harmless. Everyone in the class was listening to Ms Ong and took in exactly what she said, all except me who asked a question. “How about those dogs that have to be muzzled?”

Besides being intellectually smart (okay, this is self-praise, haha!!), I am also becoming braver. I am being trained by mummy (not daddy because I spent most of my time with mummy) to catch insects like beetles, fleas etc and even a lizard’s tail. I was very scared when I was told to dispose of the lizard’s tail but eventually did it when mummy bribed me with a sweet. Haha! Now you know my soft spot! After the incident, mummy asked me will I dare to pick up lizard’s tail again in which I replied ‘Yes’. Know why? It’s not for sweets but I told mummy beacuse I love her.

Note: Mummy is MOST AFRAID of lizards.

I like to play with Duplo and have been creating all kinds of stuff with it.

My current fave is playing with the Thomas The Train tracks, connecting all the tracks to the Roundhouse, Rollar Coaster, Bridges and all. It is not easy but I am getting the hang of it and love to assemble and disassemble it again and again so as to create new tracks.

My loot from the recent Lego fair. I can fix all of them by myself, just by looking at the instruction manuel.

Sacrificial Love

Mummy decided to bring us to Tanglin Mall Gymboree today as it is a school holiday. Alas, the maximum age to enter the playgym area is 60 months (5 years old). I am 5 years 1 month and 12 days old so am forbidden to play in the playgym area. Mummy was in a dilemma. She knows both of us were very excited to play and if she chose not to go, Je t’aime will be disappointed. If she chose to let je t’aime go, poor me had to be outside on my own. She was prepare to choose the former but decided to ask me for my choice.

When told about the matter, i was sad of course. But I told mummy to let Je t’aime play and I will be alright doing colouring (provided by Gymboree staff) outside the play area. Reason being I love Je t’aime. Mummy was reluctant to leave me all by myself but I reassured her that it’s okay and to let Je t’aime play. Mummy was very touched.

When told about my sacrificial love, Daddy was extremely proud of me. I am glad to be able to bring smiles and joy to the people I love.

p/s: Mummy’s note to Jireh. “I love you very much, Jireh.”

A video of Je t’aime going up a gentle slope and down a steep slope in Gymboree.

London College of Music Examinations (LCME)

This August, I’ll be taking my first music exams aka LCME through my music school. The song in the video is one of the 3 songs that I’m required to play together with other components to be tested. Am still improving on it.
